About Swap

Swap can replaces any kind of element in the scene hierarchy by another one. It is so possible to work with low polygon objects during the scene construction, such as cubes, to keep Carrara running smoothly, and to replace them by a heavier geometry when the objects are correctly positioned and the scene is ready to be rendered.

It’s also very easy to replace a light by a camera to place it correctly, and then replace the camera by a spot light: in both cases, a simple Ctrl+E then Enter do the switch.

Swap can also replace shaders on objects: simply select the objects to modify, click Ctrl+E, and select the shader to apply on them.
